Problems installing under win Xp ver 6.20

Postby impero68 on 22 Sep 2009 14:38

dear admin,
I installed the v6.20 version on a pc using win xp. I am able to launch the application, but when I try to load the model (after the first screen info) I receive the error message: "runtime error '3170' couldn't find installable ISAM" .
what does it mean? Is there a way to fix the problem?
thanks a lot

ps. I was successfully using the v6.09 standalone version

RG:

I have tested 6.20 installation on a machine here at the office, and things went well. I suggest doing a full uninstall of IFs, reboot, download and try again. If that still doesn't work, let me know. I'll mess around this with some XP machines at home, then.

Just FYI: Version 6.22 is now available online.

Dear admin,
thanks for your quick answer. Unfortunately I have tried with the procedure you suggested and I also tried the last 6.22 version, but it does not work. I tried on a Pc of one of my colleague and everything works fine (?!). The only differences between my Pc and the other one is due to the fact that I am using more programs (c++, matlab, stata, r, miktek, MySQL) -and we have installed the same version of Office 2003. I wonder if some programs induce a conflict in ISAM module needed by IFs.
Some additional details on the problem:
1) The program regularly starts
2) when I push the load button it starts to copy many files
3) at the end of the copy process a window pop up with the error I described in the previous post.

Advice from one of our developers. Please let me know if this did or did not work:

He might try installing the MDAC 2.8 from the following link
